Moderate Focus Issues – Child, Male GW Age 9

August 21st, 2010

Amino Acid Program:  March, 2010 to Current

Child reports with moderate focus issues at school.  Dr. Wright reviews child’s diet and feels it is in order.  Family reports concerns over school’s “suggestion” of child seeing pediatrician for possible diagnosis and then medication.  Family chooses to start amino acid therapy with child and monitor.  Child begins amino acid ADD Protocol through diluting supplements in juice three times per day.

April, 2010:  Family makes primary teachers aware of protocol and asks for their observations, albeit positive or negative.  Primary teacher reports an improvement in behavior as well as focus and concentration within 1 – 1/2 months.

May, 2010:  Family chooses to remove child from amino acid protocol for the summer (just to monitor / observe focus factor.)

June – July, 2010:  Family reports noticing lack of concentration / ability to take direction slowly returning.

July – August, 2010:  Family chooses to start child again on amino acid protocol for the school year.  Ultimate decision came when child himself reported, “I can think better when I’m on my brain vitamins,” and cooperated fully to begin protocol again.

Mid-September, 2010:  Mild, if any improvement in child.  Dr. Wright has requested another urine to evaluate patient / dosage.  Dr. Wright comments that child may not have neurological issues after all, just normal 9 year old lack of focus.  This latest test will determine if patient should continue on program.

October – November, 2010:  Dr. Wright removes child from Amino Acid Protocol.  He does not feel enough of a change / improvement is seen to warrant the continuation of  Therapy.  Dr. Wright recommends family continue with a healthy diet for child, and a good pro-biotic to support immune system.

April, 2011:  Family reports to office as a follow-up.  Child has continued to do well on his own.  Dr. Wright reports that nutrition is not only diet and structure a huge factor with “hyper / unfocused” children but also “maturity.”  Often  times, he sees schools / pediatricians too quick to recommend psychotropic drugs for children when these options have never even been discussed.

ADHD Inattentive – Female SM, Age 17

August 21st, 2010

Amino Acid Program:  July, 2010 to Current

July, 2010:  Patient presents with diagnosed ADHD Inattentive.  Family concerned over her side affects whenever on neuro re-uptake inhibitors.  Patient begins amino acid therapy in preparation for new school year.

August, 2010:  Patient reports feeling more focused.  Patient has finalized last urine test to optimize amino acid dosage levels.   Close monitoring will continue.

September – October, 2010:  Patient is stable.  Improvements in school and social behavior are evident.  Dr. Wright will administer one more urine test to determine if continuation is necessary.

November, 2010:   Dr. Wright and patient agreed to discontinue amino acid therapy and try using alternative skills, good diet/ nutrition and consistent sleep to maintain stability.  Dr. Wright referred patient over to our staff Acupuncturist for some emotional support.  Patient is doing great to date.

Moderate to Severe ADD – Child Male JD, Age 8

August 21st, 2010

Amino Acid Program:  August, 2010 to Current

August, 2010:  Child presents with Moderate to Severe ADD signs, and OCD.  Dr. Wright begins pediatric, half-dosage of amino acids to expose child to taking supplements (via diluting in juice.).  Dr. Wright also dicusses improving child’s extremly poor eating habits.  Dosage will be bumped within a week – two weeks.

Mid-September, 2010:  Family reports small improvements in child’s thought process.  Family also reports child’s “food diversions” have improved slightly.   Child’s dosage was tweaked recently; Dr. Wright is hopeful that child’s improvements will continue.

October – November, 2010:  Patient is staying consistent on amino acid program.   Improvements in diet are strongly suggested to further support child’s brain growth and function.  Family reports seeing definite changes in child’s focus and academic ability.  It was reported that child was able to focus on a board game for two hours straight; whereas this was never a possibility prior to amino supplements.  Family reports that although the supplements are a hard regiment for a 9 year old child; they feel he takes them without protest because he, too, “notices a difference, and feels better on them.”

Jan – March, 2011. Mom last reported child as “stable and doing well.” Dr. Wright is going to introduce some additional support at this point since he feels child’s lack of solid diet and nutritional may also be limiting his physical and mental improvement from here.

June, 2011:  Mom reports that she removed child from Aminos for summer, and not only did she notice a marked difference in his focus, personality and coping skills, but the child himself noticed.  Patient went back onto Amino Program and is again doing well.

August 2011:  Patient continues on Amino protocol.  Dr. Wright has introduced quality Liquid Vitamins and Minerals, and has encourage family to improve his diet.

2011:  ”Words from Mom:”    “When my 8 year old son, with a diagnosed learning disability told me, Mom, I wish I could think better.  I knew it was time to get him help.  Thankfully, I was aware of amino acid therapy  – - and the  results were immediately beneficial.  He could now tell me a story clearly, without struggling for words.  The homework was done without a fight or tears, because he could process his thoughts.  Then the memory started to improve.  I believe with this therapy, assisting in brain connectivity, he now has the chance to:  think better, learn, prosper and grow ………..”

August 19th, 2010

Amino Acid Program:  February, 2010 to Current

Six years ago, patient begins exhibiting tremor-like symptoms in his legs and arms.  Neurologists outruled Parkinsons, and labeled his symptoms as tremors / restless leg.  As a complimentary physician, he felt he needed to find another road other than a pharmaceutical approach to his diagnosis.

Anxiety and Depression – Female Physician KM, Age 40

August 19th, 2010

Amino Acid Program:  July, 2010 to Current

Physician reports to office exhibiting signs of severe depression.  Dr. Wright begins patient on amino protocol.  Moderate improvement is reported by patient.

Patient has completed two urine tests and Dr. Wright feels her dosage has been optimally adjusted according to her lab results.  Patient reports more noticeable improvement in mood, and decrease in anxiety level.

August, 2010:  Patient has responded beautifully to amino acids.  She reports that her anxiety and depression have decreased substantially.

Mid-September:  Patient continues to report substantial (and she stresses “substantial”) improvements while under the amino acid protocol.

October – November, 2010:  Patient is thrilled with her progress to date.  Dr. Wright says “better will come,” since she is not optimally “tweaked,” and will feel even better after her last urine test and dosage is adjusted.  Patient will begin new dosage first week in December and report to office following week.

January, 2011:  Patient reports that when she takes her amino supplements regularly, she does great.  Unfortunately, she admits she is “the worst patient.”  On the whole, she feels they have made a tremendous difference in her life, and now realizes she needs to be consistent with her daily supplements and then all is good.

Feb. – March, 2011:  Patient remains consistent and does extremely well when she takes the aminos consistently.

May, 2011:    Patient remains consistent and does extremely well when she takes the aminos consistently.

August, 2011:  Patient was again lax over the summer with her appropriate dosage and once again felt the different.  She again, has resumed consistent supplementation, and again reports she feels great.  (She agrees, doctors are the worst patients :)     )

”In Their Own Words:”    ”As a Physician, I do hereby solemnly swear that my life has changed dramatically once I added Amino Acid therapy to my daily routine.  Having been through menopause, and with an underactive thyroid, physically and emotionally I felt completely lifeless.  Things were beginning to feel meaningless.   I felt as if I was “faking life” everyday just to get through.  That is when I decided one day I need to “catch this” now before I declined any further.  And since I always try and do the safe and natural route where possible when it comes to my health, I decided to investigate Dr. Wright in Palos Hills and the Amino Acid Therapy work he was using  in his office.  I knew I had absolutely nothing to lose, because the claim was “no side effects”, and my investigation into it confirmed this finding.   Once I started on the aminos, I quickly felt as if I had been given my life back again!  I still feel great, and absolutely support this Therapy for mild depression and/or anxiety.  I have and will continue recommending it to my patients as well.”

May, 2011:  Child has continued to do great and remain stable.

August, 2011:  Family reports that child had a great summer.  Marked difference in personality, mood and behavior.  They are looking forward to a successful school year.

”In Their Own Words:”     “Hi, my name is Brad and I am in 6th grade and have been diagnosed with ADHD.  The (AMINO ACIDS) Therapy I have been taking has changed my whole life thanks to Palos Holistic Health.  Before I started taking the supplements, I was always very impulsive, and the amphetamines that I was taking were not helping as far as organization and behavior.  They were also giving me depression, mood swings, and headaches.  It also took away my appetite.  My grades were at D’s and F’s and were not going up.  I could never finish anything all at once.  And the worst part of it was that I was never focused.  Now that I have been taking the supplements that Dr. Wright put me on, I sleep better, my behavior has been under control, and I can focus on and finish something that I start.  My depression, mood swings, and headaches are now gone & I’m not skinnier then my 9 year old brother.  I have more compassion towards others, and I am much more organized.  I have gone from 18 mg. Concerta to 1.  And I have a 3.4 GPA, I am in honors and advanced honors for math and science, witch is called IMSA (Illinois Math and Science Academy) Fusion.

Mild Anxiety / Depression – Male JP, Age 38

April 2010:  Patient begins amino acid therapy.  Patient reports noticeable improvement within a week of dosage.

July, 2010:  To date, patient reports significant improvement in his “well being.”  His depression has decreased to almost none.  Dr. Wright reports to patient that “he will continue to feel  even better as his serotonin and dopamine levels balance out more.”

August, 2010:  Patient is happy with his progress is doing very well.  He has progressed to checking in with Dr. Wright every few weeks, and remains consistent with his amino acid dosage.

Mid-September:  Patient has stabilized and continues to do extremely well.  He only needs to check in every three weeks at this point with Dr. Wright,  and remains consistent with his amino acid dosage.

October – November, 2010:  Patient has removed himself off of amino acid program.  He reports he feels his body has balanced out, and feels he no longer needs the amino acids.   He is working out, and eating better than ever and feels this is supporting his body enough.  It has been reported that many patients have been taken off the protocol when the Dr. and his patient are in agreement.  And, if in the future, said patient is in need, it is easy to transtition back onto the amino acids with no harm to the patient or his body.

Mild Depression and Fibromyalgia – Female DH, Age 72

August 2nd, 2010

Amino Acid Program:  May, 2010 to Current

Patient presents to office with mild depression and fibromyalgia.  Within first five days of aminos, patient notices improvement in mood / outlook.

July 2010:  Patient progress is significant.  She has not experienced fibromyalgia symptoms in two months.  Family of patient has reported significant change and improvement in patient, and supports her continuation on the amino acids.

August 2010:  Patient is consisent in her improvements.  Dr. Wright continues to work with her weight / diet / eating habits, knowing this will further her progress.

Mid-September, 2010:  Patient presents as doing well.  Her depression has subsided significantly.  Dr. Wright continues to work with her on her diet and eating habits to stabalize, then further her progress.

October – November, 2010:  Although is significantly better than when she initially reported to our office, Dr. feels patient is probably not consistent with her amino daily doses, and her diet is extremely poor.  Food is an essential “medicine” for the body as well.  Quality Food = Quality Health, period.  Dr. will continue working with said patient until the end of the year, but may consider releasing her from the program due to non-compliance.

January, 2011:  Patient has re-committed to program.  As of today, she reports physically she feels good.  Mentally, she notices a big difference as well.  She is maintaining consistency on program, and is expected to improve more.

Feb., – March, 2011:  Patient reports to office that “the pain seems to be lessening.”  Her further hopes are that the amino will keep Alzheimers at bay, since she reports a high incident rate in her family.

April, 2011:  Patient is consisent and stable.

June, 2011:  Doctor has removed patient from Amino Therapy.  Patient is non-compliant:  She refuses to make key dietary changes to further support her body.  She refuses to increase her activity level; therefore, Dr. Wright feels she is wasting her time / money on aminos, and has removed her from program.
